Fatty acids

Fats are, in effect, the macronutrients in the most energy-rich, because they provide 9 kcal (37 kJ) per gram. However, the building blocks of lipids, the fatty acids, are essential to our body for many other functions in addition to their calorie intake.

Is increasing awareness of the potential beneficial effects on health of some types of fatty acids: “fatty acids , essential”, which must be introduced with the feed as humans do not possess the enzymes needed to produce them. This is the acid α-linolenic acid (polyunsaturated fatty acid omega 3) and linoleic acid (polyunsaturated fatty acid omega-6).
