The determining ingredient in the dietary supplement “Alpha Lipoic Acid 250 mg” is Alpha Lipoic Acid. Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA for short) is a sulfur-containing fatty acid.

We decided on this product because it is a high-dose preparation at a great price and without the addition of unnecessary fillers.

What effects does alpha liponic acid have?

Alpha lipoic acid, also called thicotic acid, belongs to the so-called vitaminoids, like L-carnitine and coenzyme Q10. Similar to L-carnitine and coenzyme Q10, alpha lipoic acid is mostly found in animal foods and is mainly stored in our body in the energy-producing parts of the cell, the so-called mitochondria. Above all, the carbon hydride metabolism is positively influenced here. Together with thiamine (vitamin B1), the citric acid cycle is supported in the energy power plants of the cell (mitochondria) in the utilization and burning of carbohydrates. Due to these positive properties, it can also reduce the body's need for insulin.

Unique to Alpha Lipoic Acid is its antioxidant properties. This fatty acid is fat and water soluble at the same time and can therefore neutralize free radicals in almost any tissue.

Alpha lipoic acid is often used to remove heavy metals (mercury, selenium), as these chelate (bind) and are excreted with the stool.

How are alpha liponic acid capsules used?

These alpha lipoic acid capsules are ideally taken at an interval of about 30 minutes before a meal, as this significantly improves absorption in our body. Due to the metal-binding properties of ALA, it should not be taken together with a multi-mineral preparation containing zinc, magnesium, selenium or other minerals. Here, too, an interval of at least 30 minutes must be observed.

One capsule is taken per day to support the blood sugar and insulin balance.

To support the antioxidant systems in our body and to scavenge free radicals, one capsule is taken per day.

One capsule is taken per day to support the eyes and nerves.

To improve creatine absorption, up to four capsules (1000mg) per day, divided into several single doses, can be used.

If there are problems with the insulin and blood sugar metabolism, hypoglycaemia with dizziness, severe hunger and restlessness can occur when taking alpha lipoic acid. In this case, the dosage should be reduced and your doctor or therapist should be consulted.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Keep out of the reach of children under 3 years of age.

Store in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
