Lavender is an evergreen Mediterranean shrub with erect stems, linear leaves and flowers grouped in thin blue-violet spikes from which the essential oil is extracted.

 



The main properties of the essential oil of lavender

Antidepressant, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, cicatrizant, antiseptic, anti-rheumatic, analgesic, decongestant, sudorific, insect repellent, a re-balancing of the nervous, relaxing.

The most common uses of lavender essential oil

The essence of lavender is an excellent sedative of the central nervous system: calming anxiety, insomnia, restlessness and nervousness. Exerts an action to correct, being both a tonic and sedative. It is useful in case of accidents, inhalation of the aroma or tablets to be applied on the injured part, or a drop to rub on the solar plexus.
Has analgesic, antiseptic and antibiotic which makes it very valid in the treatment of all diseases, from colds: influenza, coughs, colds, sinusitis, catarrh. In all these cases, it should be used for inhaled or clutch local.

It is a good essence for children: many small childhood disorders (colic, irritability, colds, night-time agitation etc) can be alleviated by a massage on the nape of the neck or on the chest with a few drops of the essence of the mass on the cushion or in the dispenser of aromas.

Some modes of use of the essential oil of lavender

- To relieve headaches, nervous tension, stress, insomnia: 2 drops of lavender essential oil massaged to the temples, wrists and neck, breathing in the aroma slowly and deeply, relieve pain and tension and help to re-harmonize with themselves and others.
- To facilitate the cleaning of impure skin and acne: mix a bit of the green clay (or fine powder of almonds) with a little water, 2 drops of lavender, a few drops of lemon juice and a teaspoon of honey. Apply on face and remove with warm water before they dry completely.
- In case of colic: massage 1 or 2 drops of lavender essential oil on the abdomen.

It is not toxic and not irritating and does not produce effects awareness.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Keep out of the reach of children under 3 years of age.

Store in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
